Geistown Borough is a small friendly community with a population of 2,331, governed by a "weak" Mayor-Council form of government.

There are seven Council Members and a Mayor who are elected by the voters. Borough Council meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Municipal Building located at 721 East Oakmont Boulevard.
