Borough of Geistown Zoning Portal - Zoning Information
- Prior to a Zoning/Building Permit being issued a review of the Borough of Geistown Zoning Ordinance will be conducted for all proposed projects.
- The Zoning Officer is charged with the responsibility of administering and enforcing the Zoning Ordinance No. 434.
- After a Zoning review, approval and zoning permit issued, the proposed project may require a Building Permit/Inspections under the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC)
- Somerset County Building Inspections is charged with the responsibility of enforcing the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code for the Borough of Geistown in an equal and efficient manner.
- A building permit will be required for any new construction, additions, renovations, alterations, repairs/replacement, demolition, and installations of swimming pools or change of occupancy.
- Please contact the Borough Office to discuss whether your project will require a building permit and inspection or just a zoning permit. It is advisable to contact the office prior to the start of any project.
