Borough Information Portal - Spring Cleanup and Lawn Care Collections

Because of the prohibitive costs associated with an annual spring cleanup of large disposable items this collection was discontinued several years ago. This service alone would have necessitated a substantial property tax increase, and the service did not benefit all Borough residents equally. Therefore, it could not be justified.

In the early spring, a week is set aside during which the Borough road crew collects brush which has accumulated over the winter months. Brush must be cut to a maximum four feet in length, bundled and placed at curbside. From early spring to late fall, the Borough road crew also collects grass clippings on a weekly basis. Clippings are to be bagged and placed at curbside for collection on the designated day.

During the fall of the year, the Borough road crew collects leaves. The leaves must be bagged and placed at curbside. Collections are not made on garbage collection days or on weekends.

The dates during which all above collections are made are announced at the regular council meetings and advertised in the Tribune Democrat and on this web page.
