Geistown Borough is a member of an intergovernmental council consisting of 42 municipalities from Cambria and Somerset Counties. Being a member of this council affords Geistown Borough the benefits of sharing ideas and services with a large governmental base. The advantage of joint bidding, grant applications, and access to the knowledge of the COG are among the benefits. There are two representatives from council that sit on the COG Board. The COG meets the first Tuesday of the month at their office building.
