Today's world can be filled with uncertainty, but knowledge is the key to being ready. Our part may not be as large as some, but we are doing it. The Borough has an Emergency Planning Committee which meets to review possible issues. In addition, Borough government and staff are trained in the NIMS system.

The IS-22 independent study course is a Citizens guide to emergency preparedness. If you are interested, this is the place to start.

The FEMA Independent Study Program offers many other courses dealing with a number of different topics.

Emergencies and Children

Emergencies are not just limited to adults. Children are also hurt by emergencies. FEMA for Kids provides wonderful information to help children understand emergency concepts in a fun way, so they learn, but are not frightened.
